All JOKWW classes are taught by members of the Professional Level Workshop. Admittance does not include a submission review process, one need simply register for the class. A sliding fee scale is used to assist those with proven financial hardships. A minimum class size of eight students is required for each class. All classes are held in Brooklyn, NY.
This class provides a supportive, productive atmosphere in which participants can develop and improve their creative writing abilities. Participants bring their own works-in-progress to class, which are read aloud and critiqued by the instructor and the participants. The instructor also provides assignments and additional exercises to strengthen the skills of the participants, in addition to giving a 45-minute lecture on some aspect of the craft of writing at the beginning of each class.
This course teaches emerging writers how to use fictional techniques to produce quality, first person narratives.
Young Writers Program
This class is geared to provide exciting writing experiences for children aged 9-15. Courses are designed to reinforce writing skills and promote a love of writing.
